In order to give your cake the attention to detail it deserves, I limit the number of cakes I take during any month, therefore my diary fills quickly. I recommend that once you have decided on your date and booked your venue this is the time to contact me to check availability.
Wedding Cakes: All our wedding cakes are bespoke and custom made to order to your specification, therefore the price of your cake will depend on the intricacy of the design and how long it will take to create, as well as the size and flavours.
I recommend a personal consultation to discuss your requirements fully. Costs will be discussed at your consultation and followed up with an emailed quotation. If you have a set budget please let us know, so that we can design your cake accordingly.
The following is intended as a guide to how basic prices might vary depending on the size of the tiers.
Details such as: hand-crafted sugar flowers, icing ruffles, edible gold/silver leaf and intricate lace and piping work will be priced in addition to basic prices, as these details often take a very long time to create. For instance, a cascade of sugar flowers can take several weeks to make. (Birdcage wedding cakes are classed as 4 tiers)

• 2 Tiers from £225 / £250 / £275
• 3 Tiers from £300 / £350 / £400
• 4 Tiers from £400 / £450 / £500
• 5 Tiers from £500 / £550 / £600
My tiers are 4" to 5" tall with 2 to 3 layers of filling in each and portions are based on 1" x 1" finger slice coffee servings
PORTION GUIDE (Approximate)
• 2 tiers serves 55 to 65
• 3 tiers serves 75 to 110
• 4 tiers serves 120 to 175
• 5 tiers serves 200 to 300
If extra portions are required we recommend a kitchen cutting cake.
Your Questions Answered
I recommend you reserve your wedding date with me as early as possible to avoid any disappointment. A non-refundable deposit of £100 will secure your chosen date. Prices given over the phone or by email are approximate and will be confirmed during your consultation. Wedding Cakes required for a Bank Holiday delivery will incur an extra charge.
You can book a consultation with me to discuss your requirements. This is a good opportunity to bring along anything inspirational you have collected to help with the design of your cake; invites, colour swatches, photos etc, and you can taste up to four different flavours of cake. Any further consultations requiring taste testing will be subject to a £25 charge.
Minor alterations can be made to the cake design up to six weeks prior to the collection/delivery date, please be aware that changes to the design may incur additional costs. Last minute changes cannot always be accommodated but reasonable endeavours will be made.
Full payment is due 5 days before the collection/delivery date. Payments can be via cheque, cash, or bank transfer. Manufacture of the cake will not commence until full payment has been received and cheques cleared.
I am unable to refund payments made for cake orders which are cancelled at short notice; within 21 days of the collection/delivery, as I am rarely able to rebook dates at such short notice.
A delivery and set-up service is available and is charged at £1 per mile (return).
I reserve the right to photograph my cake when set up has been finalised at the venue.
You are more than welcome to collect your cake at a mutually convenient time from Lacey Cakes based in Wakefield, however, I am unable to accept liability for cakes that are assembled incorrectly or that are damaged during your own transportation. Wedding cakes can be substantial in weight and large in size and the components may come in numerous boxes.
Lacey Cakes (Wakefield) accepts no liability for cakes that are damaged after they have been delivered to the agreed location or collected from home bakery. Please take care when displaying your wedding cake, avoiding direct sunlight, spotlights or candles.

Payable by bank transfer or cheque
Wedding Cakes: £100 non-refundable deposit to save the date with the remaining balance payable 10 days prior to the wedding date.
Celebration Cakes: £30-40 deposit is required to confirm your booking with the remaining balance due 1 week prior to collection, or in cash upon collection.
Please book early to avoid disappointment. Orders are limited per week. It is never too soon to make an enquiry or book a consultation. We can sometimes accommodate a late order, so it is worth contacting us to check the diary. But generally the more notice the better please.
